Two new locations offering big flavor

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Vol Dining is thrilled to announce two new dining locations at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, this spring: Orange Acres, a self-branded concept located on the Ag Campus, and a full-service Chick-fil-A on Cumberland Avenue. Both venues will offer students, faculty, and staff new options on the periphery of campus focused on convenience and quality.

Orange Acres Cafè

A self-branded concept in the new Agriculture and Natural Resources Building, Orange Acres showcases Vol Dining’s commitment to sustainability and local agriculture, featuring beef sourced from the UT Northeast Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center. This farm-to-table concept allows guests to enjoy premium burgers, sandwiches, and salads, with the added flexibility to turn any burger or sandwich into a fresh, customized salad.

By incorporating local UT beef from Greeneville, Tennessee, Orange Acres offers a delicious and nutritious option while supporting the university’s agricultural programs and celebrating local flavors. The new concept adds more flexibility and convenience to the Ag Campus, which only has one dine-in location, Mabel’s, a historic campus staple.

Chick-fil-A

Known for its iconic chicken sandwiches and friendly service, Vol Dining will partner with Chick-fil-A to open a co-branded, full-service location on Cumberland Avenue to replace the former Raising Canes and Panda Express location. Chick-fil-A will operate the full-service location, offering a complete menu, much-desired catering services, and delivery options to campus, the Fort, and the surrounding area.

A popular national chain, Chick-fil-A offers a variety of fan-favorite menu items, from its signature waffle fries to a wide selection of breakfast and lunch options. Conveniently located on the periphery of campus, this new addition will bring even more flavor and Volunteer Spirit to the Vol Dining experience for students and guests alike.

Both locations are scheduled to open mid-March. Formal dates will be announced later this spring through Vol Dining social media channels. As part of the Vol Dining portfolio, students can utilize their meal plan at both locations through cash equivalency, Dining Dollars, or a Flex account. Guests can also use their VolCard account, credit, or debit card.

“Orange Acres highlights the best of what our university has to offer by featuring locally sourced beef, while the full-service Chick-fil-A will not only provide campus favorites but also offer catering, making it easier than ever to plan on-campus events.

We consistently strive to enhance the dining experience on campus, and these new locations reflect that goal.”
